Action Plan For Prius Hybrid Is Expected From Toyota
Tokyo- The world’s largest automaker Toyota plans to issue a recall for their latest model Prius Hybrid and according to the spokeswoman, Ririko Takeuchi, the Toyota will soon announce a plan for dealing with breaking problems.
More than 7 million cars has been recalled by Toyota Motor Corp in China, U.S and Europe over floor mats and sticky accelerator that can caught in the gas pedal. The world’s biggest automaker stellar reputation for quality has been sullied with the problems and criticism on Toyota.
According to an email sent by a company executive, the company has instructed the dealers in the United States to start preparation to repair the brakes in thousands of Toyota’s iconic model Prius hybrid although it is unclear that Toyota is planning for an official U.S. recall.
Takeuchi did not confirm the reports that company has decided to issue a Japan recall in her diplomatic statement that they will make an announcement soon on the action we plan to take.
Japan largest newspaper, the Yomiuri reported without naming the sources that Toyota decided on a recall in Japan covering it latest Prius model and has notified domestic deals on Saturday. Japan Asahi and Kyodo News agency carried similar reports that Toyota would announce the move early this week after consulting with the Japanese government. Japan’s transport ministry dealing with recalls was not answering calls on Sunday to confirm the reports although two Toyota dealers reached in company’s head office to refer queries.
As the brakes are not failing completely, there is a possibility that company could simply ask owners to bring their cars in for repairs. The main reason behind this issue is, there is a pause as the cars switches between brakes from gas engine and the electric motor.
Toyota’s quality problem is a high-level government concern in Japan as they have acknowledged receiving dozen of complaints.
The news conference of Toyota’s chief, Akio Toyoda in which he has offered an apology for the defects has intensified the media criticism on Toyota. So action plan about Prius hybrid will be announced soon.
